TY - JOUR PY - 1975// TI - Statements of persons detained for driving under the influence of alcohol with regard to their drug intake and confirmation of such statements JO - Blutalkohol A1 - Mallach, H. J. A1 - Seitz, J SP - 337 EP - 347 VL - 12 IS - 6 N2 - In the reported time between the 1st of May, 1964, and the 31st of December, 1974, there were 28,552 blood samples taken by police order. Among these, 4,943 (17.3%) persons claimed to have taken drugs before. Most of the drugs were soft anodynes as claimed by the accused persons. Analgetics, opiates, sedatives and hypnotic drugs obviously influence the frequency of accidents happening when people show a blood alcohol concentration between 0.8 and 1.3(per mille). The interaction between alcohol and drugs and their influence on the psychophysical efficiency should be paid regard to by means of direct and sure proof. The confirmation of claimed drug use diminishes with increasing blood alcohol concentration of the accused persons. By support of a great number of examination reports this can be stated for the first time.
