N2  - For a comparative assessment of the accuracy and precision in both breath and blood alcohol analysis there are some well suited sets of data measures by the police in the year 2000. The existing 1381 sets of data for breath alcohol values and the 1264 sets of data for blood alcohol values can be divided into the categories of law infringements (BrAC less than 0.55 mg/l or BAC less than 1.1 %) and criminal offences. When testing the accuracy by comparing BrAC or BAC each obtained by two different methods, linear deviations in the case of blood analysis as opposed to breath analysis become apparent. The precision control with regard to law infringements shows fewer measurement deviations with breath analysis than with blood analysis. In cases of criminal offences the results do not differ to such a great extent.<p />
