TY - JOUR PY - 1980// TI - Rate of increase and time of increase of blood alcohol concentration after short drinking period JO - Blutalkohol A1 - Zink, P. A1 - Reinhardt, G. SP - 400 EP - 410 VL - 17 IS - 6 N2 - The results of a computerised statistical evaluation of 558 blood-alcohol curves with maximum alcohol concentration values between 0,3(per mille) - 2,0(per mille) after a short drinking period are as follows: 1. The rate of increasing blood alcohol concentration depends on the amount of alcohol ingested. It is doubled when a double amount of alcohol was ingested. 2. The average rate of increase of the blood alcohol concentration varies between 0,3 - 2,7(per mille)/h, its mean value being 1,2(per mille)/h. 3. The time in which the maximum blood alcohol value is reached after drinking began is not dependent upon the ingested amount of alcohol or the type of beverage. It varies between 20 min and 2 h, the mean time being 60 min.
