N2  - In drinking experiments 90 minutes after drinking, blood was taken from the cubital vein under various conditions from the right and the left arm. The ethanol concentration and the water content of the blood and the serum, the hematocrit and the total protein concentration of the serum were determined. The results were the following. No physiological right-left-difference of the blood alcohol concentration was seen. Maximum differences between the samples of the right and the left arm were 0,01(per mille). Compressing the vein with a pressure of 60 mm Hg for 5 minutes did not change the alcohol concentration but led to inspissation of blood. Raising the pressure on the veins from 60 to 100 mm Hg had no influence on the results. Cooling of the arm for a 5-minute-period did not change the measured values. During lying and for 5 minutes changes in the water and alcohol concentrations were noticed. The mean change of the blood alcohol concentration was 0.01(per mille). After bodily exertion, changes of the blood water concentration and a mean decrease of the blood alcohol concentration of 0.01% were noticed.<p />
