TY - JOUR PY - 2001// TI - The dangers of sport on an operational deployment JO - Journal of the Royal Army Medical Corps A1 - Clasper, Jonathan C. SP - 297 EP - 300 VL - 147 IS - 3 N2 - This study, a retrospective review of the orthopaedic outpatient work from a multinational hospital in Bosnia, further confirms the dangers of sport on an operational tour. Sports injuries were shown to be a major cause of morbidity, affecting both the operational effectiveness of the force and also resulting in a number of career-threatening injuries. In particular, football (soccer) was shown to be the most common cause of injury and the wisdom of allowing this sport during operational tours must be questioned.
