N2  - April 25, 2015, began like any other day at the remote Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA) clinic in Pheriche, Nepal, where I'd been working as a volunteer physician for the past 6 weeks. Days had passed quickly while our team cared for international trekkers and climbers, as well as local Nepalis, treating routine illnesses and addressing high-altitude emergencies. But on this day around noon, the ground began quaking beneath my feet as I sat in our living space.
