TY - JOUR PY - 2015// TI - Child sexual abuse: an area of emerging concern JO - Indian journal of forensic medicine and toxicology A1 - Bhowate, Sandip A1 - Asawa, Shrikant SP - 40 EP - 45 VL - 9 IS - 2 N2 - The subject of child sexual abuse is taboo in India. There is a conspiracy of silence. Large percentage of people feel this is a western problem. Part of the reason of course lies in a traditional conservative family and community structure that does not talk about sex and sexuality at all. Under the law, all forms of child sexual abuse are now specific criminal offenses for the first time in India.
