TY - JOUR PY - 2015// TI - Survey of the acual state of the initial rider training for motorcycle riders in Germany JO - Zeitschrift für Verkehrssicherheit ZVS A1 - Kuschefski, A. SP - 106 EP - 111 VL - 61 IS - 2 N2 - The initial rider training (driving school) is the basis for the entry to the traffic for most of the motorcycle riders. High requirements and profound quality of the education are not at all a guarantor for safe riding, but it is of vital importance. Only the motorcycle rider who has learnt the characteristics of a powered two wheeler within his theory and practical lessons will be able to handle its risks. Against this background, the Institute for Motorcycle Safety (ifz) started an online survey across Germany to receive information regarding the implementation of theoretical and practical lessons in driving schools. The results of this anonymous online survey with nearly 1,200 motorcycle riders are published in the "Survey of the actual state of the initial rider training for motorcycle riders in Germany". (A)
