TY - JOUR PY - 2013// TI - Effects of adolescents' risk factors on risk results JO - Journal of regional studies A1 - 유영준, A1 - 오윤수, SP - 125 EP - 145 VL - 21 IS - 4 N2 - This study analyzes the factors that affect risk behaviors and risk outcomes associated with adolescence. The risk factors include individual characteristics, home environment, school environment, and peers. The risk results vary depending on the risk types of teenagers, which are related to internet overuse, physical abuse, attempts to run away from home, school violence, drinking and smoking, stealing, sexual abuse, tempted sex trafficking, and suicidal plans or attempts. The result of the analysis of survey data collected from 1,289 adolescents in Daegu shows that the risk factors lead to a variety of risk results for teenagers. The findings can be summarized as follows. First, the high risk group requires professional help and the social infrastructure to support it. Second, there is a need for a social support system that provides integrated services for youth at risk. Third, high risk teenagers, in most cases, have multiple problems and thus are in need of comprehensive expert intervention involving professionals from different areas working together.
