Phosphine gas is commonly in use for fumigation of grain silos and shipping containers.We describe a suicide attempt of a 54 year old female, the clinical symptoms, the treatment, the chemical and biochemical background and we give information on the potential occurrence of zinc phosphide and phosphine gas.
