TY - JOUR PY - 1996// TI - Current state of biodiversity impact analysis in state transportation agencies JO - Transportation research record A1 - Herbstritt, Robert A1 - Marble, Anne SP - 51 EP - 63 VL - 1559 IS - N2 - Because transportation projects have the potential to affect local and regional biodiversity, it is likely that the evaluation of impacts on biodiversity will become an increasingly important issue in the planning process. Transportation Research Board's Task Force on Natural Resources conducted a survey of state transportation agencies in early 1995. Its intention was to determine the current state of biodiversity analysis in the transportation community, the extent to which biodiversity is becoming an emerging issue for state departments of transportation, and how the issue is being managed.
