N2  - The laboratory of the Training School, which is a private institution, is organized for administrative purposes in three divisions: research, clinical and clerical. The research program includes studies of three major groups of problems: (1) physiological psychology, embracing investigations of "physiological indicators of brain conditions in the mentally deficient" and the "investigation of motor functions in the mentally deficient and the normal"; (2) the measurement of social incompetence with the development and application of the Vineland social maturity scale in the interests of differential diagnosis; (3) the "clarification of the concept and definition of mental deficiency."<p />
