TY - JOUR PY - 1998// TI - Outcome of adolescent suicide attempts JO - Revue du praticien, La A1 - Granboulan, V. SP - 1440 EP - 1443 VL - 48 IS - 13 N2 - Studies about the outcome of adolescent suicide attempts have generally shown a bad prognosis. The main short-term risk is the repetition of the attempt which occurs in one case out of three. The main long-term risks are increased rates of mortality, about twenty fold compared to the population of same age, and persisting psycho-social problems. Follow-up care is therefore very necessary, but drop out is frequent. Practician's determination and decisions at the time of the attempt are therefore an important stake.
