TY - JOUR PY - 2018// TI - Religious involvement and marijuana use among a sample of African American young adults JO - Journal of ethnicity in substance abuse A1 - Parrish, Michael A1 - Taylor, John SP - 548 EP - 555 VL - 17 IS - 4 N2 - Is religiosity associated with African American drug use? Despite the increased research attention that has been devoted to the topic, findings to date have been inconclusive. To address this issue, we analyze data from a sample of 434 young adults residing in Miami-Dade County Florida. We find that, of the four dimensions of religiosity considered here, only religious attendance is inversely related to marijuana use for men and women. The implications of these findings are discussed.
