TY - JOUR PY - 2017// TI - Sibling rivalry and offspring conflict: a review JO - Advanced science letters A1 - Hashim, Rugayah A1 - Ahmad, Hashim A1 - Mazuki, Mohd Anuar A1 - Bahrin, Nur Liyana Zainal A1 - Ahmad, Azlan SP - 3 EP - 6 VL - 23 IS - 1 N2 - Cases on sibling rivalry and offspring conflicts have been on the rise though hardly reported, particularly in Asian countries for fear of retribution and shame to the family. Hence, the paper reviews articles that report similar scopes of study with various implications to family ties. The methodology involves rigorous library research by isolating parallel scopes undertaken and the tabling of findings from these investigations. The outcomes from the reviews will highlight the increasing plight of siblings victimized or demoralized by their own family member, be it a brother or sister. In such cases, families should not hide their problems, instead relevant social welfare departments should provide necessary assistance or be mediators to resolve the internal issues towards a better kinship.
