N2  - In brief Computed tomography (CT) is always more precise than chest x-ray for evaluating pulmonary contusions and other forms of lung trauma. CT is also valuable in guiding treatment for patients who have pulmonary contusions. As demonstrated by two case studies, not all sports-related pulmonary contusions are minor.
