N2 - Dealing with representatives from pharmaceutical or nutritional companies is one of the more difficult ethical situations for a paediatrician in a developing country. They offer gifts, sponsor conferences and provide food and drug products samples as part of their marketing strategies. This form of marketing continues because it works.
