This special issue presents selected papers submitted to the 15th World Conference in Transportation Research WCTR2019, which was held in IIT Mumbai between 26th & 29th of May 2019, under the Special Interest Group SIG C4 ‘Traffic Safety Analysis and Policy’. Under this track in the 15th WCTR 2019, 129 papers were submitted. All papers were peer-reviewed by at least two reviewers. Only 18 papers were evaluated as potential for publication in journal special issue. These papers were invited for the special issue and were enrolled in another peer-review process by two reviewers. This clearly highlights the rigid review process to ensure the inclusion of high quality studies in the special issue. The special issue addresses road safety as a multidisciplinary science that is influenced by a vast number of factors such as types of traffic control, geometric features of roads, speed limits, signages, built form, etc. As reported by the World Health Organization WHO (2018 World Health Organization WHO. This rises road safety as an international public health issue. The great majority of roads crashes (nearly 90%) occur in low and middle income countries (WHO, 2018).
