N2  - The thesis of this paper is that there are race differences in depression and mania such that there is a lower prevalence of depression and a higher prevalence of mania in Blacks and this ratio declines progressively in South Asians, Europeans, Native Americans and North East Asians. It is proposed that race differences in testosterone are a major determinant of these differences and that they have arisen as adaptations to the climatic environments in which the races evolved.<p />  <p>Language: en</p>
