TY - JOUR PY - 2003// TI - Influence of tyre loading and inflation pressure on standing waves phenomenon using PAM-SHOCK JO - Heavy vehicle systems A1 - Chang, Yu-Ping A1 - El-Gindy, M A1 - Streit, DA SP - 86 EP - 111 VL - 10 IS - 1-2 N2 - To investigate the tyre transient response characteristics, a full nonlinear finite-element P185/70R14 passenger car radial-ply tyre model was developed and run on a 1.7-metre-diameter spinning test drum model up to 300km/h. The virtual tyre/drum finite-element model was constructed and tested using the nonlinear finite element analysis software, PAM-SHOCK. It was found that standing wave formation resulted in increase of vehicle's receptions, internal energy, and contact energy assumptions.
