TY - JOUR PY - 2016// TI - Right-wing authoritarianism and attitudes toward torture JO - Social behavior and personality A1 - Benjamin, Arlin James SP - 881 EP - 887 VL - 44 IS - 6 N2 - I examined the relationship between right-wing authoritarianism and attitudes toward torture. The results from 2 studies with U.S. students and citizens, respectively, demonstrated that not only was there a significant positive relationship between right-wing authoritarianism and their attitudes toward torture, but, more specifically, there was a significant positive relationship between authoritarian aggression and attitudes toward torture. The findings are discussed within the context of theoretical models of authoritarianism and human aggression. Keywords: right-wing authoritarianism, authoritarian aggression, attitude, torture, human aggression.
