N2  - In many countries, a death cannot be ascribed to SIDS without an examination of the circumstances of death, including the death scene, by trained personnel. The death scene investigation examines all aspects of the infants past medical history, recent medical encounters, and last sleep. In Ireland there is no standardised death scene investigation. We are unaware of any immediate plans by any of the professional groups involved in the management of sudden infant death to introduce such a scheme.<p />  <p>Language: en</p>
