N2  - Diabetes, hypoglycemia and driving instructions in Switzerland Abstract. Many individuals with diabetes participate in road traffic in a regular and safe manner. Studies suggest that type 1 diabetes leads to more traffic accidents. Hypoglycemia is a risk factor for driving mishaps. Therefore, patients with diabetes medication, which can cause hypoglycemia, have to be informed and adhere to the guidelines regarding suitability for driving.
