N2  - Active safety systems are getting more and more important in the automotive industry, since they are capable - in contrast to passive systems - to permit a situation analysis. In this paper such a pre-crash system composed of three sensors is shown. The trigger algorithm for the pre-crash detection is described. To validate the algorithm practical test drives and crash tests have been performed. The results of these tests are also presented.<p />
