TY - JOUR PY - 2006// TI - Analysis of Continuous Welded Rail Track Stability in Vertical Plane JO - Archives of civil engineering A1 - Bednarek, WA SP - 105 EP - 126 VL - 52 IS - 1 N2 - In the present paper a static analysis of a straight CWR track's stability in vertical plane under the occurrence of high rail temperatures is considered. The target of investigation is to properly answer a question of a possible local stability loss in vertical plane on an originally straight CWR track of infinite length, resting as a weighty beam on horizontal substrate, due to an action of large compressive forces from rail temperature changes and an external impulse. A typical form of spontaneous hogging track is a single wave shape. The following analysis could state if for contact loss between railway track and subgrade an "external interference" i.e. external lifting force is necessary. Shown in the paper is an influence of railway track weight and roadbed curvature on stability condition of railway in vertical plane. The results of a theoretical analysis carried out on CWR track stability scale in vertical plane, regarding an influence of real factors disturbing its behaviour on site, are a basis for determination of its safety conditions in service. For such analysis especially formula (3.6) and Section 3 are of a basic importance. The obtained results have an essential value in problem of vertical plane analysis of a CWR track in service.
