TY - JOUR PY - 2006// TI - Evaluation of the Fire Hazard of Naval Ship in a Zone Fire Model JO - Journal of Wuhan University of Technology (Transportation Science and Engineering) A1 - Feng, Min A1 - Yang, Z. A1 - Zhong, C. SP - 512 EP - 515 VL - 30 IS - 3 N2 - This paper proposes some modifications allowing extending zone models to ship design applications, a pressure solution procedure for multiple compartments and an approach to heat conduction description in complex geometries. Zone fire model is applied in naval ship fire analysis, different compartments models for zone model calculation are set up, and calculation results are presented. According to the mechanism of fire engendering and spreading, the criterions of fire spreading and fire hazard rate are built. On the basis of zone simulation of single compartment, a fire modeling in multiple ship compartments is proposed, which can be used to assess fire hazard. A program is compiled to prove this method, and it is proved that it can be used to assess ship fire hazard at different situation of weapon attack.
