N2  - By analyzing the shortcomings in traditional vehicle communication system, an intelligent vehicle monitoring system is presented in this paper. The design procedure of hardware and software is described in detail. The vehicle terminal system is composed by GPS, GPRS module and CPU. By comparing the two data transmission protocols in GPRS network, UDP/IP is selected as the vehicle communication protocol. The implementation procedure is given in detail at last.
