TY - JOUR PY - 2011// TI - Steering stability of a bus powered by natural gas while braking JO - International journal for traffic and transport engineering (Belgrade) A1 - Ivković, Ivan A1 - Janjoš, Željko A1 - Žeželj, Srećko SP - 10 EP - 27 VL - 1 IS - 1 N2 - The use of natural gas as bus propellant presupposes the application of a driving unit adjusted to the use of natural gas in addition to the application of a corresponding gas facility. The first part of the paper describes the distinguishing features related to the storage of compressed natural gas tanks as the main carriers of additional mass due to the use of this energy substance for the propulsion of buses, as well as their effect on the structural features of vehicles. The second part of the paper covers the formulation and analysis of differential equations in terms of the steering system's stability, and the equations depict the motion of the natural gas bus with its structural features, according to the defined models for instances of bus braking with locked front, rear and all wheels.
