N2  - When the question of the endorsement of suicide is distinguished from other suicide-related questions, and when suicide itself is defined with decisive reference to the intention, it is far from self-evident that there are cases of laudable suicide that the Christian ought to endorse. The Christians' endorsement of the right to refuse "extraordinary" treatment and to effective pain control counter two of the major arguments for the necessity of suicide. Christians should not endorse suicide because it contradicts a relationality of affirmation of those left behind.
