N2  - Twenty people who had experienced the death of a parent between the ages of 12 and 18 were compared with 22 people whose parents had not divorced, separated, or died, using two measures of death threat, one based upon an Interpersonal Repertory Grid (IRG) and the second the povided from of the Threat Index (TIp). The death-loss group had significantly lower death threat mans than the control group on the IRG; this result did not hold for the TIp. Similarly, standard deviations for death threat scores on the IRG were significantly lower, for the death-loss group than the control group; again, this result did not hold for the TIp. Moderate correlations were found between death threat as measured on the IRG and the TIp for both groups combined. Moreover, higher correlations between threat as measured by these two instruments were found for the control group than the death-loss group. Theoretical and methodological issues are discussed based on these results.<p /> <p>Language: en</p>
