N2  - Injury is a major public health concern in Pakistan. The 2020 Pakistan Demographic Survey reported that injuries (including road traffic injury, falls, drowning, homicide, suicide, and burns) cause nearly 4% of deaths in the country. Research on injuries and trauma is still evolving in many low- and middle-income countries, and specifically in Pakistan. In general, funding for health and safety research in Pakistan is scarce, contributing to the dearth of research outputs. Expanding the body of evidence within a local context can better inform decision-making around healthcare, infrastructure, expenditures, and funding and can ultimately improve outcomes within injury and trauma care settings. With a better understanding of the current context of injury in Pakistan, health systems leadership and policymakers can also make informed decisions relevant to local conditions.<p />  <p>Language: en</p>
