The patient was riding in a New England trail system when the front wheel of the bike hit a root and he lost control. He flipped over the handlebar approximately 2 mi from the trailhead. The patient reported striking his head on the ground but had no loss of consciousness. During the fall, he also recalled the end of the handlebar striking his left lower abdomen and reported immediate severe pain...
