N2  - The features and advantages of self-illuminated pavement markers were analyzed. It was found that the solar powered LED illuminated pavement markers which activated in response to environmental conditions improved the road delineation. The tested pavement markers activated in response to the environmental conditions to which they are designed to be activated. It was also found that these internally-illuminated markers provided consistent light output from a wide range of viewing angles resulting in a clear indication of road curvature throughout a curve.     <p>Language: en</p>
