TY - JOUR PY - 1973// TI - Fatigue and driving: A theoretical analysis JO - Australian road research A1 - Cameron, C. SP - 36 EP - 44 VL - 5 IS - 2 N2 - A general theory of fatigue developed during an extensive study of aircrew fatigue is described, and its application to driving fatigue is attempted. The results showed that effects of extended performance are of less significance than effects of lack of sleep; severe fatigue effects are to be confined mainly to the professional driving population; measurable decrement in quality of driving performance is small; and a complex interaction between lack of sleep, motivational factors and task variables is expected.
