TY - JOUR PY - 1989// TI - Driver Perception of a Series of on-Road Treadle Sensors JO - Australian road research A1 - Pitcher, IK SP - 173 EP - 178 VL - 19 IS - 2 N2 - As part of an Australian Road Research Board (ARRB) research project involving the derivation of a relationship between vehicle speed and distance travelled along a residential street, it was necessary to establish a suitable data collection method. The method chosen involved the measurement of vehicle speed at designated points using a series of on-road treadle sensors. In order to assess the visual impact of a series of treadle sensors on the behaviour of motorists driving along a residential street, a preliminary test was devised which sought to determine the impact of dummy detectors on maximum vehicle speeds.
