N2  - The increase in service member and veteran suicides in the military has garnered considerable attention over the past decade, especially once the rate of military members surpassed that of demographically matched civilians. Dr. Peter J. N. Linnerooth, a former Army and Department of Veterans Affairs psychologist, was concerned about service member and veteran suicide and wrote this article before his own tragic suicide in 2013.
