We applied a questionnaire in individual form with the purpose of investigating the degree of suicidal ideation (SIS-Q) which explores the following parameters: 1) Disorders of the dream, 2) disorders of the spirit, 3) feelings of blame and 4) devaluation. The population divided groups in VIII: I, fellows with disorders of the dream; II, with disorders of the spirit; III, with feelings of guilt; IV, with feelings of being devaluated; V, with disorders of the dream and behavioral ones; VI, with depression; VII, with frank suicidal ideation, and VIII, people with no alteration. We studied a total population of of 1,000 patients, of which 675 (67.5%) corresponded to the masculine sex and 325 (32.5%) to the feminine sex, whose age oscillated between 15 and 81 years, with a mean of 48. Seventy nine subjects interviewed (12.2%) presented frank suicidal ideation, being 27 (4.1%) men and 52 (8.0%) women, with prevalence in the group of women of 35-44 years with 14 cases (17.7%), and the biggest frequency occurred in men 45-54 years old, with six cases (7.5%). 9.1% (59) of the interviewed people had depression, 21 (3.2%) men and 38 (5.9%) women. We found a greater frequency in the group of women of 35-44 years with 11 cases, and in males of 45-54 with 6 cases (1.6%). Of the studied group 152 (23.6%) manifest disorders of the dream, 51 (7.8%) men and 93 (15.6%) women, where the ages range that predominated in both sexes was 35-44 years; in the rest of the population, 60 (9.3%) cases had disorders of the spirit, 2.9% (19) had feelings of blame and 11 (1.7%) feelings of devaluation. It's relevant that of a apparently healthy population 12.2% present frank suicidal ideation and 9.16% had major criteria for depression, that is the most important factor associated to suicide.
