N2  - To us, the identity of melancholic and manic-depressive subjects is characterised by over-identification with external representatives of identity. From the point of view of their social roles, this implies domination of the identity of the social role in relation to an under- developed egoic identity which is compensated for in this way. This specific identity structure is manifested in certain behavioural and cognitive patterns which we refer to under the term of hypernomic behaviour and emotional and cognitive intolerance to ambiguity. Identity therapy must take into account the extent to which this involves coping strategies on the one hand and vulnerability factors on the other hand. Identity therapy essentially has two objectives: 1. the development of egoic performances and 2. the protection and stabilization of threatened identity structures.<p /> <p>Language: fr</p>
