TI  - A comparative study of suicidal, suicide ideator and nonsuicidal depressed adolescents

N2  - Using a newly developed semistructured questionnaire (Detailed Evaluation Schedule for Children and Adolescents, Hungarian version: DESCA- H) authors compared 3 clinical group of adolescents in 3 item domains: family interactions, early childhood temperamental traits and present psychopathology. The 3 clinical groups were composed (1) of a sample of adolescents having attempted a suicidal event (n= 16), (2) of a sample of ideators, members of which only had frequent phantasies and thought of suicide (n=31) and (3) of a larger 'pure' depressed group of adolescents having neither ideas nor pervious attempt of suicide (n=62). In the first item domain parental overstrictness was uncovered as the only discriminator, no features related to early childhood temperamental traits were found to differ among the groups. Concerning psychopathological symptoms, the strongest discriminators were hopelessness, intent to die and drug/alcohol abuses between attempter group, ideator group and depressed adolescents. Some items referring to dysfunctional affect- and behavior regulations differentiated with a less stronger level of significance between the sample having realized a suicidal attempt on one side and 'pure' depressed group on the other.<p /> <p>Language: hu</p>
