N2  - We describe two patients with toxic methemoglobinemia after suicidal use of toxic substances. The first patient had rubbed himself with anilin, the second had ingested phenazopyridin. Both were treated with methylene blue. The mechanisms of acquired methemoglobinemia, diagnosis and treatment of this condition are discussed.<p /> <p>Language: nl</p>
