N2  - Violence is a leading cause of death and morbidity for adolescents, Homicide and suicide are the second and third leading causes of death in this age group. Recent data released by the Centers for Disease Control state that in 2000, an estimated 441,247 children aged 12-19 years were treated in hospitals for non-fatal violent injuries. This article will review the impact of violence on adolescent health, specifically focusing on interpersonal violence, intimate partner violence, and suicide.
