TY - JOUR PY - 2007// TI - Autopsy features of wound ballistics: Wounds caused by.22 caliber bosquette bullets JO - Journal de Medecine Legale Droit Medical A1 - Houssaye, C. A1 - Paraire, F. In Wound ballistics, the.22 Short, the.22 Long or the.22 Long Rifle are the most well-known ammunitions. However, the.22 "bosquette" bullet, typical in shooting ranges, is much less known as it does not arise much in forensic science. The suicide case that is presented highlights the lesions caused by several shots fired at point-blank range. It is demonstrated, through the support of a literature review, that the characteristics of these lesions are the consequence of ballistic properties particular to this ammunition. The first description of its kind, this study complements the extensive knowledge of.22 caliber ammunition. It illustrates once again that bullets or weapons for leisure shooting are still potentially lethal.
