N2  - Brad Bigrigg, chief of the Town of Caledon (Ontario, Canada) Fire and Emergency Services, shares his experience about a suicide attempted by a man on April 11, 2006. He found a man dressed in winter clothing and holding a 2.5-gallon gas can. He was blowing a pack of matches. He called the Joint Fire Communications Center and requested support for police officer, EMS, and the response of a single fire company, to effectively evacuate the town hall. The town hall was evacuated in about 2 minutes. The responding fire company was deployed in the west parking lot with dry chemical fire extinguishers. Man ignited the gasoline and a small fireball erupted. The fire doors blew partially open and then closed again. Fire and Rescue sectors and police were deployed to the foyer to extinguish the fires. The man received no burn injuries due to his winter clothing. Four police officer sustained serious second and third-degree burns on varying surface areas of their bodies.<p /> <p>Language: en</p>
