TY - JOUR PY - 2011// TI - Adolescents' intentional self-mutilation JO - Russian education and society A1 - Laskite, A. A1 - Laskene, S. SP - 83 EP - 88 VL - 53 IS - 9 N2 - In Lithuania, suicide is among the top three causes of death; between twenty and thirty-three school-age children take their own lives every year, and the overwhelming majority of adolescents do not seek help in connection with situations that prompt them to engage in self-mutilation. Research indicates adolescents think that if more attention is paid to their social and psychological state, the problem of self-mutilation can be confronted more successfully.
