TY - JOUR PY - 2011// TI - Stress and work-related suicide within a military institution JO - Travailler A1 - Bryon-Portet, C. SP - 87 EP - 110 VL - 26 IS - 2 N2 - People working in the military institutions are currently facing an increase of job stress and of the amount of depressions and self-aggressive behaviours, which expresses a psychological and sociological discontent. This observation gave birth to a reflection grounded on personal experience (the author has been an officer for seven years), and on enquiries (interviews, audits, surveys). Being concerned with the preventive and curative measures that could be put forward, I tried to bring out the causes of the discontent and to clarify its various aspects while comparing the evolutionary situation of the army with the one of the civil society. In the meantime, I was led to question the present validity of Durkheim's theory of suicide. © Martin Média.
