TY - JOUR PY - 2013// TI - Datura stramonium poisoning in children JO - Ann Toxicol Anal A1 - Rachid, A. A1 - Bouhdadi, S. A1 - Salimi, S. A1 - Dehbi, F. SP - 191 EP - 193 VL - 25 IS - 4 N2 - Datura stramonium intoxication is usually voluntary, in suicide attempts or use as a hallucinatory drug, but sometimes it is accidental, especially in young children. We report two cases of accidental Datura stramonium poisoning, in two children aged 20 months and 5 years. In the first case the anticholinergic syndrome was not very pronounced. In the second case, the anticholinergic syndrome was very pronounced, with agitation, bilateral mydriasis and pyramidal signs associated with skin rash and fever. The outcome was favorable after symptomatic treatment and monitoring. © 2014 Société Française de Toxicologie Analytique.
