TY - JOUR PY - 2014// TI - Serum cholesterol and depression: An update JO - Medical journal of Dr. D.Y. Patil University A1 - Budania, S. A1 - Rathi, M. A1 - Singh, S. A1 - Yadav, S. A1 - Mittra, P. SP - 543 EP - 549 VL - 7 IS - 5 N2 - A large number of studies have been performed to establish a correlation between serum cholesterol and depression. Majority of the studies have suggested that depression and suicide are associated with low levels of serum total cholesterol, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol and triglycerides. However, few researchers have also denied the association between serum cholesterol and depression or suicide. We carried out an extensive literature search for the studies performed on serum cholesterol and depression, and found that a relationship definitely exists between the two. © 2014 Medical Journal of Dr. D.Y.
