N2  - Article 2 of the European Convention on Human Rights requires that the state not only abstains from inflicting death, but also protects life. Nonetheless, the case law of the European Court of Human Rights seems to be progressively outlining a right to assisted suicide, which would fall in the scope of the right to private life. In this order, the court modifies the ground of dignity: it is no more inherent to human nature, but linked to each individual's perception of dignity.
