TY - JOUR PY - 2015// TI - Suicidality and anxiety disorder JO - Ceska a Slovenska Psychiatrie A1 - Kamaradova, D. A1 - Praško, J. A1 - Látalová, K. SP - 155 EP - 160 VL - 111 IS - 3 N2 - Suicidality is considered to be a serious social problem. The most frequent is its connection with depression or alcohol abuse, but it is also an important issue in patients suffering from anxiety disorders. Anxiety disorders are a heterogeneous group of disorders each of which participate on the suicidality in a different way. It is supposed, that anxiety disorders itselves can result in suicidal behavior or can be a contributing factor to development of psychoactive substance dependence and participate on suicidality indirectly. This is a review article. Studies were identified through databazes PubMed and Web of Science. We used articles published between 2000 and 2013. Studies show that in anxious patients is suicidal risk increased by anamesis of previous suicidal attempts and presence of suicidal ideations. This risk is further increased presence of comorbid depression, panic disorder or posttraumatic stress disorder. Another studies have proved comorbidit alcohol abuse to be an important factor. The group of patients suffering from anxiety disorders showed increased risk of suicidal behavior and therefore more attention should be paid to this issue.
