TY - JOUR PY - 2007// TI - The Determination of Route-Width in Consideration of Traffic Volume JO - Journal of Japan Institute of Navigation A1 - Seong, Y A1 - Inoue, K. A1 - Sera, W SP - 25 EP - 30 VL - 116 IS - N2 - The difficulties of maneuvering in harbors and ports are increasing, in part due to larger vessels and increased speed, as well as increasing volumes of traffic. The general method of designing a route is in consideration of movement by a ship of maximum size, but this method does not take into congestion traffic volume. This article proposes a method of determining route-width needs that incorporates traffic volume. The authors use the environmental stress model as the index of standard, using maritime traffic simulation to model collision avoidance.
